About Permanent Makeup
Permanent makeup is the art of implanting color in the skin. Your technician applies the right color in the right place so you can look better naturally. Specialized instruments allow the trained technician to place color into the layer of the skin called the dermis. Because the outermost layer of skin, the epidermis sheds and renews itself, when a procedure is completed, the color will appear darker than the final result. This is because the color is in both the epidermis and the dermis. The color in the top layer will flake off during the healing process, lightening the final results. At Angelbare, each technician is educated in facial characteristics, structure, and anatomy.

Permanent Makeup FAQ
Will this save me time and money on cosmetics?
Permanent makeup saves you time and money. Though touch-ups are required every couple of years to keep the makeup fresh, you will be able to eliminate the hours spent applying certain basics. You will also eliminate the constant checking of your makeup to see if there has been any smudging, flaking or general fading throughout the day. Working closely with you, your technician will give you the optimum results for your lifestyle and the enhancement of your natural beauty.
How long will it take to recover from the procedure?
Upon completion of the procedure, a cool compress is applied to the area. An ointment rich in vitamins A and D will aid healing and will moisturize the tender areas. You may find that you are more sensitive to light and may benefit from wearing sunglasses if you are in a climate with bright sun. Eyebrow procedures have the least swelling, yet remain sensitive to the touch. Lip color often involves temporary swelling. Please inform us if you have a history of fever blisters so medication can be prescribed prior to the lip procedure.
Is the procedure uncomfortable?
Your comfort is important. Topical anesthetics in the form of creams and gels are applied to the selected areas prior to and during the makeup procedure. Some people describe the sensation as a tingling feeling. There is minor discomfort for most procedures with the lip procedure, generally being the most sensitive of all. A general pain reliever, like Advil or Tylenol will ease the discomfort you may feel afterwards.
Are permanent cosmetics like makeup?
Permanent cosmetics are not intended to replace conventional makeup. Like makeup, this color implanting method reduces skin discoloration and enhances features. But, with permanent cosmetics, there is no need for reapplication, saving time and money.
How long do permanent cosmetics last?
Permanent cosmetics can last up to two years, but will fade over time. As you become used to your new makeup it is not uncommon to want more. The darker the color, the longer it will stay unchanged. Natural and delicate colors are more likely to lose their pigment with exposure to sun and frequent swimming.
